BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17, 2010, DAY 2
- Attention all TSA members who are going to the State Competition: Your fund raising forms are due today. Please bring them to the Tech. wing room 104 before Third Block.
- Interact club members: this is a reminder that the Dance is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17. If you are unable to attend this event please drop off your donation to the counseling office tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you at 5:00pm for set up in the cafeteria. - The students traveling to Germany with the GAPP trip have been selected. Please look at the list outside of room 201 and meet with Mrs. Smith to see if you are one of them.

- In the third of five spring ninth grade Honors Continental Math League Exams, Eleni achieved the top score of 4 out of 6 to lead all competitors. The following scored three’s: Steven Armstrong, Margaret Ellis, Jessie Greenslade, Lake Heckaman, Lindsay Hutchinson, Raymond Keim, Ian Martzall, Benjamin Nogueras, Samantha Ressler, and Melissa Upton. Morgan Flood and Raymond Keim lead the overall competition with a cumulative score of 11. Zach Falk is close behind with 10. Lake Heckaman, Eleni Jones, and Ian Martzall are within reach with a cumulative score of 9. A host of other Mathematicians are on the leader board with eights. Please check the bulletin board in the Math wing to see if you were one of those students. Congratulations to all of these Mathematicians.
- Attention Ag Students: SAE record books must be turned in to Mr. Fellenbaum by March 19th in order to receive your SAE credit. Students who exhibited animals at the fairs are REQUIRED to turn in their record book. Books must be complete in order to receive credit.
- There will be a meeting in the Auxiliary gym during club on Thursday, March 18th for any student interested in trying out for next years cheerleading squad. Students who plan to attend the meeting must sign up in the Main Office prior to the meeting.
- Attention any aspiring junior girl who is interested in running for Optimist Queen-nominations can be found in the counseling office. This is a great opportunity to provide community service and get involved in a variety of activities within the local area.
- Juniors- don’t miss a chance to learn about a way you could spend your entire senior year on campus at Stevens College of Technology. After high school you would need to do one more year of school and you would have a fantastic degree in a high demand field. We will have an information session on Tuesday the 23rd in the counseling office during homeroom. See your counselor for more information.

Juniors and seniors are you interested in a career in law enforcement? There is a great opportunity for you. The Pennsylvania state police youth week is on June 13-19 at York college of Pennsylvania. This is a six-day camp used to introduce students in all procedures of law enforcement. If you would like more information about this camp please go to the guidance office for more information.
Males in your junior year, this summer you have the opportunity to earn 3 college credits. Keystone Boys State is a program highly valued on college applications. The program gives you the opportunity to develop a working understanding of state and local government. You also get to meet and visit local state representatives and senators in Harrisburg. This program is being held at Shippensburg University on June 20-26. For more information please go to the guidance office.

- Attention Spring Fling Crew. We will be holding a short meeting during homeroom on Tuesday. Please bring your sub order forms and any money if you have already collected it to the auditorium at the beginning of homeroom. You should receive a pass from your block 1 teacher today.

The student volunteer program at the Lancaster General specifically matches students with professionals in their department of choice and gives them a first-hand look at the day-to-day jobs and operations. If you complete 50 hours of volunteer work and submit the paperwork on time you would be eligible to receive $500 scholarship. Please hurry, this program is very competitive. Go to the counseling office for more information.

- Attention students taking the SAT at Penn Manor this Saturday: you will sign-in at the Central Complex Entrance from 7:15 – 8:00 a.m. Remember that food and drinks are NOT allowed in the testing rooms. Bring your Admission Ticket, two number two pencils, an approved calculator and required photo identification. Read the Registration Bulletin regarding what to bring and what not to bring. Check the SAT website to see if your calculator is approved and visit the Test Day Simulator, an interactive presentation designed to help students understand what the test day experience will be like.
- The audition time list for ETPM is now posted in the office — please make sure you are aware of your audition time. See Christine Klingaman, Mikah Farbo, Mrs. Kirby or Mrs. Good if there is an issue concerning your assigned time.

The guard jumped five points to maintain their lead over the competition, putting them in a great position for Championships in a few weeks. Congratulations to all the winter guard students who are continuing to achieve excellence!

If you are going to be absent on that day for one of these activities you MUST come to the counseling office and pick up a permission slip. You must resubmit a permission slip even if you submitted one for February 26 Career Day. If you do not complete one of these activities it is expected that you will participate in Career Day. If you have any questions see your counselor. All forms are due by March 19th
- Stevens College of Technology offers Penn Manor seniors the chance to attend FULL TIME during the senior year. If you are a Junior and considering a career in Business, Respiratory Therapy, Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, Automotive Technology or other programs offered at Stevens plan to attend an informational session on Tuesday March 23rd in the Counseling Office during homeroom!

- Student Council members: ALL seniors are meeting in room 414 today during HR to discuss the ETPM raffle. The Teacher Appreciation committee is also meeting in room 414 today!

- CONGRATULATIONS to Penn Manor’s Quiz Bowl team for advancing to the next round of WGAL’s Brainbusters Tournament. Thursday night, Penn Manor defeated Manheim Township in a high scoring match, with a score of 455 to 400. Great job!

- Freshmen and sophomore girls do you enjoy math and science or would you like to explore these fields than you have an opportunity. Science, Technology & Me is a one-day hands-on event to promote girls’ career awareness in these areas. The program will be held at Millersville University on Saturday, April 10 from 8 am to 4:30 pm. There will be a charge of $15 per girl. The deadline for registration is March 10. Please come to the Counseling office for more information.
