Throwback Thursday

Pequea Families,

Throwback Thursday is a popular trend on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites. Someone posts or reposts an older photograph of an event or memory with the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday or #TBT.

During the summer it’s important for our students to “throw it back” and recall information learned from their previous grade-level. We want to you to comment to this post or comment on any of our social media sites with something your child learned last school year. Use the hashtag #PequeaTBT on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!

Summer Olympic Games

The opening ceremonies of the 2016 summer Olympics in Rio are next Friday, August 5. Listed below are a few resources for you and your child to enjoy during the games. You can read information to or with your child. There are also videos to explore about the science of the games.

Calendar Updates

Our district public relations coordinator, Mr. Brian Wallace, has been busy updating our district calendar with events. Visit our calendars to get a head start on marking down important dates for the 2016-2017 school year!

Digital Citizenship

It’s important that we teach our students to develop 21st Century Skills. In essence, we’re preparing our students for some jobs that don’t exist yet. We need to make sure our students are conducting themselves appropriately online and creating a positive digital footprint. Check out or “tech out” the family guides on digital citizenship from Common Sense Media. There are resources to meet the needs of every student. The parent concerns section also offers great information. Click HERE for a really fun game from the FBI called Cyber Surf Islands to teach digital citizenship skills to students.
