How to update Adobe Flash plug-in software from the Terminal

Flash PlayerHello everyone! I am going to show you how to update your Adobe Flash plugin software. This is useful if you are looking at a website that requires the Flash plugin to be up to date and you are in a hurry, and you don’t have the time to run a full set of updates on your computer.

First, what you’re going to do is look at the top left hand corner and find the dash

This is the dash; it allows you to search anything on your laptop.

Once you have clicked on the dash, you must type

           ‘ terminal

If you have a purple box on your screen, you are doing something right. To be able to allow the update to run, you have to type…

‘ sudo apt-get install flash-installer ‘

When clicking enter, the box will fill up with information. Just simply let it run until it stops and nothing happens. If you’re unsure that it has stopped, look all the way at the bottom and it’ll say

user@subt(your laptop number):~$

If it does, you are finished and have the newest update!

If you’re one of those people that likes to double check, we have a solution for that.

The screen may be blurry, but if you go to

www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

It will take you to this page.

Towards the bottom right, there’s a box that says

Version Information

If the number is the same as in the picture below, then you are updated and done!
