Audacity is a free pre-installed application. This is a recording program in which you can use an external microphone (you many need to change the device settings) or a built-in recording device. This program can be used to edit audio and use effects such as removing background noise from an audio file. Watch the video below or follow these quick easy steps to get started:
- Go to the dash and type Audacity
- Click on the Audacity icon (soundwave with headphones)
- When the program opens click ok on the startup screen
- Click the 6th button on the top left corner to record (Red circle button)
- To stop recording click the 3rd icon from the left (square icon)
- To save the audio file click file
- Click export
- Type the file name and use the extension .mp3
- Then click save
