Friday’s Temperatures

Because of the threat of record cold and high winds Friday, parents are reminded to make sure their children are wearing warm coats, hats and gloves as they head for school tomorrow.
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory until 10 a.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to dip below zero, with wind chills as low as 10 to 25 degrees below zero. In such conditions, frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin.
The conditions could possibly result in a delay in the start of school Friday. Please check the Penn Manor cell phone app, website and Twitter page, as well as local media outlets regarding a possible delay. You may also dial the district’s weather hotline, at 872-9500 ext. 2333.
    Please be safe outdoors.

Spelling City

With the fifth grade spelling lists getting more difficult as the school year progresses, we want to let you know about a new link that has been put on our fifth grade blog.   Under “Mrs. Eckroat” at the top of the page, you will find a link to Mrs. Eckroat’s Spelling City webpage.  This provides another way for the students to practice their spelling words at home each week.  Remember, the new word list comes home each Monday, and the test on that list will take place on the Friday of that same week.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this, and thank you for helping your child study these spelling words at home.
