What a “crazy” week!

This week brings some fun events and schedule changes as well!

  • The book fair is here today through Wednesday.  Wednesday has extended hours until 7:00 pm.
  • Parent conferences are this week, so we have 1:30 pm early dismissals on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Mrs. Falk and Mrs. Eckroat are looking forward to talking with each of you!
  • Friday is “Crazy Clothes Day” for all of Conestoga Elementary!  Encourage your kiddos to dress crazy on Friday!

“The Scarebird”

On Friday, October 30, the fifth graders culminated a lesson in reading by making their own scarecrows.  The students read the story “The Scarebird” by Sid Fleischman, discussing the key ideas, vocabulary, and theme of the story.  In addition to creating their own scarecrows, the students wrote a description of their scarecrow using specific details to help the reader find the matching “scarebird”.   When you come to your parent conference, be sure to stop and look at the creative scarecrows made by the fifth graders!
