Important Information Regarding School Closure

Good morning! The teachers have been a part of online meetings this morning (and there will be more meetings this afternoon) in order to prepare for online learning opportunities for Penn Manor students starting next week. Please read the following information carefully and contact your child’s homeroom teacher with any information that pertains to you or any questions that you may have.

  1. We need to know by this evening what households have internet access for all school age children in the house. There will be optional educational activities posted starting Monday, March 30, so we need to know who will be able to access these opportunities and who will not. Please email your child’s fifth gradae homeroom teacher to let us know that you are aware that the opportunities will start on Monday and whether your children will have internet access or not. At this time, you do not need to email other teachers because the intermediate grades are contacting parents first.

  1. Report cards for the third marking period are being completed now and will be available to view on Sapphire in the next few weeks (a specific release date will be coming). If you do not have access to Sapphire for your child, please let your child’s homeroom teacher know. At the beginning of the year, all fifth grade students were shown how to access Sapphire in order to see their grades, etc. so you may want to check with your child first.
  2. Mrs. Baker wants to make sure that all families are signed up to receive the Conestoga Blog posts. She has been posting important information on the blog about the school closure, meal delivery, etc. In the coming days, there will be more important information posted as well. If you are not signed up to receive these updates, please click on the link in order to sign up.

Most importantly, please know that we are thinking and caring about each and every student and family. As the teachers are distancing ourselves as well, we have been working on report cards and have been starting to plan activities for your children to be working on, if they choose. We know that this time has not been easy on families and children, but we hope that you have been able to enjoy unexpected family time, time to relax, and time to get outside and enjoy nature (while keeping a good distance from others).

We are looking forward to hearing from you regarding the information we need from you and to hear how you and your family are doing. As always, if you have any other questions we can try to answer, please do not hesitate to ask.

Stay safe and stay healthy! Mrs. Eckroat and Mrs. Falk
