The 5th grade team thought it would be helpful to create a video to assist our remote learners in setting up some useful habits on the days you will be an ‘At Home Learner’. This video walks students (and families) through the expectations for the day when you are an ‘At Home Learner’.
Please take a few minutes to review the video created. This will be especially useful to our group B students that will be kicking off the school year as an At Home Learner on Monday, 8/31. Group A, this will help you with your first At Home Learning day on Tuesday, 9/1. As always, please feel free to reach out to your teacher with any questions or concerns.
We are so excited to get started this year. Although the year will be different- the growth, experiences, and relationships we hope to provide your children will be as present as ever!
About the Blog:
We thought it would be useful to have a 5th Grade Blog this year, instead of individual teacher blogs. If you have specific questions for your child’s teacher- please head over to the teacher contact tab for more information.
We will be posting important information on this blog throughout the school year. Please subscribe so you get email notifications whenever we post.
Be sure to check out the tabs above for very useful information. Your child will be receiving their Google Classroom Code via email prior to the first day of school.
A few reminders: (this information was in the letter you received via mail), here is the class supply list we hope the students can bring with them their first day of school: Pencils, Scissors, Glue Sticks, Colored pencils, crayons, whiteboard markers, and a supply box. (Remember- there will be no shared supplies this year) Contact specific teachers with questions.
We will be doing a fun project during the first week of school. Please remind your child to bring in pictures or images that will help them to complete their “All About Me” collages. These may be pictures/clippings/drawings of them, families, vacations, favorite memories, foods, hobbies, books, sports, etc. Please be sure that they only bring in pictures that are able to be cut or modified, as they may not be returned in the same condition in which they arrived. This is a great way for our class to get to know one another a bit better! Please BE CREATIVE– these pictures do not need to be photographs but may be drawings or clippings from magazines, etc. Students who will not be coming to school on Monday August 31st will be doing a project that will be posted in their Google Classroom. They will bring in their supplies the next day!
