Howard Thurman said: “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
With that spirit in mind, I have to admit that teaching is an absolute passion of mine, and I definitely love what I do! I am so excited to be joining the Penn Manor community and to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this school year! I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us; I know it will be full of fun, laughter, and learning! Since we’ll be working closely together, I thought you might like to know a little bit about me…
This will be my 13th year teaching. Before coming to Penn Manor School District, I was a first grade teacher in Selinsgrove, PA. I graduated with a degree in Spanish and my Elementary Education and Spanish Education certifications from Lycoming College and earned two Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Literacy and Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University.
While education-related activities keep me very busy, I have a few other hobbies. I like to sing, play piano, and have been teaching myself how to play the ukulele. I also enjoy baking all kinds of sweet treats! I like to learn new things, and I have been practicing the art of hand lettering. I also enjoy shopping, reading, going to Hershey Bears and Phillies games, and spending time with my friends and family, especially my two nephews, Jameson and Maddox!
Below are a list of some of my favorite things:
Color: Turquoise or any color if it’s sparkly and glittery
Season: Summer – I love going to the beach and relaxing!
Food: French Fries, Fruit, & Empanadas from Central Market
Drink: Coffee… lots & lots & LOTS of coffee!
Song: Any Disney Song
Book: Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
Sport: Is shopping a sport?! I like to cheer on the Hershey Bears and the Philadelphia Phillies!
