  • We will continue Chapter 2 this week
  • Our Chapter 2 Test will be on Friday, 9/20
  • I will be giving students their review packet on Wednesday; answer key will be uploaded in Math Google Classroom

ELA

  • Spelling List 2 can be found on SpellingCity (click here). Our list 2 test will be on Wednesday, 9/18
  • Vocab List 2 can be found on Quizlet (click here). Our list 2 vocab test will be on Wednesday, 9/18
  • Our Lesson 2 Story is titled “Line Drive”. The story can be found on our online Storytown book (click here). Our reading test will be on Wednesday, 9/18.
  • We will be starting Lesson 3 on Thursday, 9/19. The tests for this lesson will be the following Thursday, 9/26.

Social Studies

  • Students received their 5 Themes Quiz grade on Friday
  • We are continuing with Jamestown this week.

  • Our first Chapter test was last Friday. Students will receive their tests back on Tuesday. Grades are ALWAYS updated in Sapphire–so feel free to check online!
  • We will be starting Chapter 2 on Monday

  • Please keep in mind, students are always given a printed vocab and spelling list; the online resources are there for you to help study and practice.
  • We will be starting Lesson 2 on Wednesday

Weekly Update: 9/3 – 9/6

Math

We will be finishing Chapter 1 this week. Our first math test will be on Friday, 9/6. Students will be sent home with a comprehensive study packet which we will spend time reviewing as well. Please ensure that students complete this packet to the best of their ability; I can always provide extra packets for students that want extra practice.

ELA

  • Students will have notes and a study guide to prepare themselves for the quiz

Happy First Day!

We had a wonderful first day today in 5B! It was very nice getting to know each student, and I’m looking forward to a great year!

End of Year Updates and Field Trip Info

This Week…

ELA – We will be finishing lesson 27 of Storytown this week. Spelling, Comp, and Vocab test on Friday

Math – We are continuing to work through 6th grade math.

Social Studies – Last class will be this week.

Field Trip

Our field trip to Landis Valley Museum will be on Thursday, May 30th. Students were sent home with a paper regarding specific directions, expectations, and clarifications. Please make sure to review the paper with your student. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Laptops!

Our tech team will be checking all student laptops tomorrow. This means that students will need to return their laptop, laptop bag, and laptop charger. After tomorrow, students will keep laptops at school and will not be allowed to take them home. We will continue using them at school until the end of the year.

Short Version: Make sure you send students tomorrow with laptop, charger, and bag!

Weekly Update 4/29 – 5/3

Math

  • Math Chapter 12 test is Tuesday, 4/30. Students have a study guide and a practice test. They were offered blank copies to practice at home, but it is also on Math Google Classroom.

ELA

Social Studies

  • Students have a social quiz on Wednesday, May 1
  • They have received multiple papers to help them study
  • They have a review assignment due on the day of the quiz.
