Thursday 2/28 Day D (Music)

Friday 3/1 Gym – Happy March! Let’s see if it comes in like a lion or a lamb! We have an early dismissal today. Please let the office know if there will be a change in your child’s transportation. We also have gym today.

Reminder: If math homework is not sent home, and you have access to the internet, please try to log your student on to complete one round of Xtra Math. If you need log in information sent home, please let me know. We will begin to grade basic facts this marking period.

Looking Ahead... Next week will be Celebrate Reading Week at Hambright! First grade will be having a special Dr. Suess related day everyday this week. Look for info in your child’s take home folder.

** In your child’s folder is a short activity for students to draw and write about what they would like to be when they grow up. This is a nice way to end our community helpers unit, and get ready for Kids At Work Day on Friday. Please send the homework back to school by Thursday.**

Monday – No School! Happy President’s Day!

Tuesday- Day D – Music We will do a President’s day activity today. We also will be sending home a new Storytown word list. This list will be tested on Wednesday 2/27. We will also begin our next math unit on double digit addition. We have social skills today.

Wednesday – Day A- Library ( no book exchange) Students will travel to Mrs. Adam’s class today for science. They’re learning about force and motion.

Thursday – Day B Art ( Social Studies homework is due today) When I grow up….

Friday – Day- C Gym ( remember sneakers) Today is Kids at Work Day! Students are encouraged to dress like the profession they would like to be when they grow up.

Monday- Day D – Music. Today we will have our lesson 16 spelling test. We will also do some fun 100 day activities that we missed out on last week due to the weather. Please remember to sign report card envelopes, add any comments you wish and return them to school in your child’s folder.

Tuesday – Day A- book exchange – We will start lesson 17 in Storytown today. We will also have a math quiz on place value and comparing numbers. Below is a list of our new words:

Thursday February 14. Students are welcome to bring in Valentines for each friend in the class. Valentines may be sent to school beginning Monday, February 11. This is an optional activity. Cards may be bought or handmade. If you need some paper to make cards, just let me know. We will have a Valentine party in the afternoon.
