week of 3/2-3/6

Thank you to everyone who donated BOX TOPS for our classroom! Our class won the BOX TOPS competition and will be rewarded with a pizza party from our PTO this Friday at 2:45. In order for all students to participate in the pizza party, a food permission slip needs to be signed and returned by Friday. YAY 4w!!!

Please note, April 24th is an early dismissal day with NO-PM Kindergarten. Due to a district in-service for staff, the district will be adjusting the normal early dismissal schedule. Students will be dismissed at 12:10 PM for this early dismissal. Please note that children will be served lunch prior to dismissal. ** The Early Dismissal for elementary is now 12:10 PM, NOT the standard 1:30 PM.**

*Monday – Day A and we have Music.

*Monday – Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! We will be doing a school wide “Drop Everything and READ” from 3:05-3:20

*Friday – Central Manor Spring Picture Day (only for those students who order them)

*Friday – We are doing a school wide event, “cozy up with a good book and wear PJ’s”

*Friday – PTO class pizza party for winning the BOX TOPS competition. Please don’t forget to send in your signed food permission slip!

What are we learning this week?

Math with Mrs. Graver: Students will take their test on Customary Units of Measurement this week. The next unit on Metric Units of Measurement is a short one!

ELA: We began our unit on figurative language last week. This week we will continue to make a SPLASH as we dive into more figurative language, and learn how to spice up our writings! In grammar we will be introducing and working with Adverbs.

Word Study with Mrs. Graver: Please continue to check your son/daughter’s planners for due dates of menu items and the date of their next word study test.

Science: We spent last week talking about energy. This week we will begin to explore and talk about Static and Current electricity.
