End of the Year Fun

We have been having so much fun celebrating the end of the year!

We enjoyed our final Lunch Bunch of the year by eating outside. Thank you for signing your child’s reading calendar all year long! I have loved watching my third graders really grow as readers.

Despite the rainy weather outside, we had a blast at Laps for LeTort! Thanks to our amazing PTO for organizing such an incredible event.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Popcorn and Poetry Party. I was so incredibly proud of my third graders and how hard they worked on their poetry. It meant a lot to have so many supportive parents, grandparents, and siblings at our celebration.

Field Trip, Mother’s Day, & Our Week Ahead

Field Trip

Our 3rd grade field trip to the Fulton Theater and Central Market was a success!! The students had so much fun watching Sleeping Beauty and shopping at Market. The rain couldn’t ruin our fun!

Thank you to the parents, grandparents, and uncles who joined us on the field trip. I appreciate you taking time out of your lives to come along with us. I hope you had as much fun as I did.

**If anyone got a good class picture in the Fulton, could you please email it to me? THANKS!**

Mother’s Day

I hope all of the moms had a wonderful Mother’s Day! I hope that your kiddo was able to give you our homemade lemon sugar hand scrub. This was my first time making it. It seemed simple enough to make, but we had some leaking containers. 🙂 The ingredients are sugar, lemon juice, and olive oil. Feel free to add more sugar if you think that yours is too “watery”.

Our Week Ahead

Tuesday – Mad Minutes are due

Wednesday – Spelling & Vocabulary Tests

Friday – Laps for LeTort & 1:30 Early Dismissal

**Look for RSVP slips for our Popcorn and Poetry Party to come home this week**

Week 35

Our Week

After two long weeks of PSSA testing, we finally got back into the swing of things!

Math – We spent the week reviewing concepts that we had learned earlier in the year. We will review more next week before jumping into the first chapter of 4th grade math.

My class was also lucky enough to work with some fabulous 4th graders! Mrs. Suydam’s math class helped us solve some place value mysteries. It was a great way for the 4th graders to review and for my 3rd graders to practice some new place value concepts.

Reading – We read a fun story that taught us about the importance of looking out for our friends and neighbors. We also continued a fun activity that we started last week that let us practice our sequencing skills.

Writing – My students have been busy little poets!! We have been working hard on figurative language and different types of poetry. All of this is in preparation for a special event that we have coming up. More information to come SOON!

Content – The students have been learning all about plants this week. The best part? Planting our own seeds! We will be watching our seeds closely to watch the process from seed to plant.

We also celebrated the end of PSSAs with a silent auction. During our PSSA prep, the students could earn tickets, which they then used to bid on items during our auction. It was a fun way to start our week!!
