Candy

Monday will be our final Binkley Bucks Store. Students are usually able to cash in their Binkley Bucks for coupons, but because it is the end of the year, I will be replacing the coupons with candy. If you are able to donate a bag of candy for our final Binkley Bucks, it would be greatly appreciated! Candy can be sent into school anytime this week. Thank you in advance!!

Week 35

Our Week

Math – Last week, the students in 3-B math had a lot of fun creating math board games. The groups were each assigned a math concept and had to create 20 questions about that concept. They were also given the task of creating a game with rules/directions. Learning disguised as a a fun game is the best kind!

Reading – We have been practicing reader’s theaters. This is always something fun to do after a long month of testing! We are also reading a new read aloud, The One and Only Ivan.

Writing – We are busy little poets right now. We can’t wait to share our poetry with you later this month!

Content – Our Lima bean plants actually grew!! Maybe we do have green thumbs after all!

BFG Week – Prior to testing, we finished our read aloud, The BFG. This past week we celebrated with a BFG Week! We dressed in our PJs because Sophie, one of the main characters in the book, was in her pajamas for the whole story.

We snacked on “Snozzcumbers” and “Frobscottle”.

We also created our own dream jars and watched an old cartoon version of The BFG. At the end of BFG Week, we had our field trip. We thought it was perfect that we went to see James and the Giant Peach, which is written by the same author as The BFG! Here are some pictures from our AMAZING field trip!

We started our day by watching James and the Giant Peach at The Fulton. It was awesome!

At Central Market, each class signed a slate for market’s Raise the Roof fundraising campaign. After learning about Central Market’s history, the students spent time shopping at all of the amazing stands. The candy stand was a big hit!

After filling our bellies at CM, we headed back to The Fulton for a backstage tour.

It was such a special day! I love having the opportunity to just hangout with my sweet kiddos. Thank you to all of the amazing chaperones. You made the day a big success!
