Homework, Planners, and Tests

Hi Families! Just a few quick things:

  • Planners get signed every night, even when we do not have homework.
  • There will be no math homework this week. Math homework will be sent home starting next Tuesday.
  • Our first spelling and vocab lists will be sent home on Thursday. Lists will usually be sent home on Fridays, but we do have not school this Friday. Our tests for both lists will be on the following Friday.
  • Our first math test will be next week.
  • I ask that any tests with a score of less than 70% be signed and returned.

Please never hesitate to let me know if you have any questions. I know that the beginning of the year can be information overload!

First Day of 3rd Grade!

It was such a fun day in 3-B! I am really excited about the upcoming year with this awesome group of kiddos.

We spent most of the day getting to know each other. One of my favorite activities was the Marshmallow Challenge. Students worked in groups to create a structure, using only one marshmallow, twelve pieces of spaghetti, and masking tape. The goal was to make the tallest structure that could stand on its own for at least 30 seconds. I have some really creative 3rd graders!

We also took advantage of this gorgeous weather! It was so much fun spending time on the playground, just getting to talk to my new students. You have some pretty fabulous kids!

I have no doubt that this is going to be a fantastic year!
