Classroom Updates for Next Week:

Reading and Spelling Lesson: 20

Reading Skill: REVIEW OF Comparing/Contrasting, Plot, Theme, and Sequencing

Reading Vocabulary Words:versions, rehearse, mandatory, criticize, immerse, dialogue, camaraderie, flawless, tragic, limp

Math: Chapter 12

We learned about: Perimeter and started learning about Area. Perimeter is when we ADD all the sides of a shape  to get a total of the distance around a shape. Area is the total area of the INSIDE of a shape. We will learn more about area next week.

Social Studies: Learning about Amish Culture

Finished our Amish Scrapbooks, will start learning about landmarks and cultures around Lancaster County.

Writing: Writing three paragraph opinion essays. The students need to convince me, through their opinion essays, to keep class rewards in our classroom.

Upcoming Tests:

2/17: Spelling and Vocabulary Test, No reading test for this cycle.

Important Dates Coming Up:

3/11: Martic Talent Show

3/14-18:  Start bringing books for the book swap (information about this in FRIDAY FOLDER)

3/17: Picture Day, order forms coming home in FRIDAY FOLDERS. If an order isn’t placed with payment by 3/17, your child’s picture WILL NOT be taken.

3/18: Flashlight Friday class prize. Students are asked to bring in flashlights that we will use to do different activities throughout the day. They are also permitted to bring either a blanket or stuffed animal to read with at the end of the day.
