This week! 🙂
Math- The students finished Chapter 5 and completed the Chapter 5 Math Test on Wednesday. On Thursday, they were given the chance to make corrections on the test to earn half credit back (I sent those home today). The students did AMAZING!! I am SO proud of them! 🙂 We just started lesson 6… the students actually explained how the math lesson was “WAY TOO EASY” today. 😉
Writing- The students have been doing a fantastic job during Writing! We have been really focusing on editing our paper by using C.O.P.S (Capitalization, Organization, Punctuation, and Spelling). They have been completing a 4-square and turning the 4-square into a paragraph. 🙂 We have such great writers in here!
Spelling- Thanks again for all of your support and encouragement at home when it comes to spelling! The students have been doing an excellent job with their spelling tests!
Content- This week we have been focusing on being kind and thinking of kind words/phrases to say to encourage others. One of the activities we did this week: Wrote something kind and inspirational on a book mark, and went to the library to put the book mark in a random book for someone else to see. Some of the phrases/words students came up with:
- Be kind to someone today
- I hope you have a great day
- You are special and loved
- Have a joyful heart with everything you do
- Be happy today and everyday
Those are just a few! 🙂
We also made anonymous cards with kind words/slogans for American Red Cross and the Nursing Home in Lancaster City. The students’ hearts are SO big. 🙂
