Parent and Student,
Hello! My name is Mrs. Smith (I was Miss Brill last year :)). I am SO excited to be your 1st grade teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures! I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us! 🙂 I want to know ALL about you but first I am going to tell you a little bit about me.
I recently got married (June 9) to the most wonderful guy! That was definitely the highlight of my summer. 🙂 I grew up in Lancaster with my amazing family. I have two older sisters and one brother. A super fun fact is that I went to Hambright Elementary School when I was your age! How fun! I graduated from Temple University. At Temple, I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education and played soccer for the Temple Women’s Soccer Team. I couldn’t wait to graduate and start teaching. I have been attending church at LCBC for the last 15 years!
In the last 3 years, I have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be back teaching 1st grade! All of the students I’ve taught are extremely important and special to me. I take an interest in my students outside of the classroom as well. I have attended many sporting events for my students in the past; if you are interested in me watching a sport you play please let me know. 🙂 I believe that everyone brings something special to the classroom and I cannot wait to see what YOU bring to our classroom.
I am THRILLED to be your teacher! This is going to be a FANTASTIC year! 🙂
