Parents and Guardians,
Due to time constraints at our celebration ceremony yesterday, I wasn’t able to share my final thoughts on the school year with you. So I thought I would post them here for you to see. Keep in touch, 6K!
Thank you parents and guests for attending our event this afternoon. It always feels wonderful to see families supporting our students.
Wow, what a year. There was so much to learn this year beyond the math, language arts, and content curriculum. We found lessons outside of the curriculum to be the most interesting and challenging; needing plenty of practice and guidance.
Lessons such as
- kindness,
- respect,
- patience,
- perseverance,
- proper use of technology,
- following directions,
- owning our actions,
- learning from mistakes,
- and being part of a class team.
Parents, thank you for your support as your child sometimes struggled with these lessons and our expectations. I know that your child is ready for the next step in their educational journey and I am proud of their accomplishments.
We have a class motto: Life is full of choices; choose wisely. I encourage my students, as they navigate through the first year of middle school, to make good choices and to continue to learn from their mistakes. And to reach out if I can help them in any way for you’ll always be my students.
