Weekly News: November 18-22

Lots of good learning going on in our class. We are reading small sight word loaded books with a few decodable words. Please have your child read to you EVERY day. Sign the post it note each time they read the book. Make sure their book is in their reader folder and sent back to school each day. Sometimes there will be sight word cards to practice, sometimes there will be a paper they have written they need to read to you, and most times a book. If the book is there several days, don’t worry, we are learning different reading skills and strategies that may take a few days to master.

Math: After a Chapter Test and Benchmark Test this week, we begin TEEN NUMBERS. Please practice counting, writing, and reading teen numbers each night.

Looking ahead:

November 26. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. There are a few items needed for our feast. I saw the Hullness popcorn at BJs and at Ameila’s (Not sure what the new name of that is). Wednesday, November 27 Early Dismissal. PM Kinders attend 9:00 – 1:30. NO AM Kindergarten.

Thanksgiving Break: November 28 – December 2. Enjoy the Holiday with family and friends.
