Weekly Update: 10/7-10/11

Happy Fall!!  We hope you enjoyed some family time and that part of it was spent outside in the beautiful weather yesterday! A new month means a new character education theme.  For the month of October, the students will be learning about and demonstrating teamwork.

Mid Marking Period 1 Progress Reports will come home this week and will help you and your child see their grades calculated up to this point. Our Marking Period 1 ends October 24 and Parent Conferences will be in early November. Your Sapphire account allows you to see grades online. You can find information to set up your account on the Penn Manor District home page.

Math update: We took our chapter 3 math test on subtraction of greater numbers Thursday. These tests were returned Friday, and corrections are due back Tuesday. Please remember to show work in order to receive credit!

We began our science unit on Matter last week. Learning about the three States of Matter and the Water Cycle will be our focus. There will be a home project coming home this week. Your child will be using their creative side to think of fun solid, liquid, and gas ideas as they create a “Matter Menu”. Many examples will be shared with students to help them start to brainstorm ideas!
