Hello families of incoming third graders!
The end of a school year always brings excitement for both the students and teacher, but there is also a lot of excitement as we learn who we will be teaching the next school year. We are already looking forward to a great year!
You will find that third grade works together as a team. While you are assigned one teacher, your child will truly have four! This video will give you a brief introduction to each of us: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15oHOyOIzd-BpIv6fLPudEtO6kIld3KQw/view?usp=sharing Also, we will be sending out an invitation to each of you on Wednesday through the email address we have on file at school inviting you to a short Google Meet Friday morning so your child can officially “meet” their new teacher!
As many of you are aware, the transition from second to third grade is challenging yet rewarding. Research shows that summer can take a toll on a student’s education. Students lose 2½ months of instructional time over the summer. Children who didn’t read or study math facts are much further behind their peers than those who did practice over the course of the summer. They then need to start the year off trying to catch up on that lost time. Please take the time to read EACH DAY and continue to work with your basic math facts. We know your child’s success is important to you and appreciate your support! You will not regret it. Wishing you a wonderful summer!! 🌞
