We’re using a program called Rocket Math to help students learn their basic math facts. We practice orally at school and then take timed tests. As they pass a level, they mark it on their master sheet. You can keep track of what facts your child needs to practice each night by having them update their copy of the master sheet that they brought home in his/her homework folder. As they pass a timed test at school, they should mark the sheet so you can help them study the next set of facts, in addition to the ones they have been practicing. By only adding the next set, students will have better success in memorizing the facts without too many new ones at one time. Studies have shown that when students know their basic facts, they are better prepared to learn new concepts. Thank you for your help!
