I hope everyone has a great weekend (I’m so sorry I did not get to post last week) We have a 4.5 day week coming up (early dismissal on Friday!) Happy St. Patty’s Day 🙂
Here is what is happening in Mrs. O’Donnell’s classroom this week…
In Math… we will start the week off by reviewing for our Chapter 11 assessment. We will have our test on Wednesday this week. On Thursday we will being Chapter 12- Geometry. We will begin by learning all about polygons and triangles. I love geometry!!
In Social Studies… this week Mrs. Purzycki’s class will continue to learn about the Bill of Rights and complete poster activities. Our final day before we switch back for content will be March 29th.
In ELA….this week we will finish up our TDAs from Lesson 19 and complete a webquest on Thomas Edison, a pretty amazing man! On Tuesday, we will begin Lesson 21 in Storytown. The next two lessons we will be focusing on Author’s Purpose and Perspective as our skill. We will read our Lesson 21 story this week: “An Interrupted Journey”, which is a story all about the life of sea turtles. We will also begin our writing unit on persuasive essays, which ties in with our focus skill this week. We will learn about different types of persuasive strategies s and begin thinking about the topic we will be writing about for our persuasive writing piece.
In Spelling…NO SPELLING THIS WEEK. Students will be given lesson 24 spelling packets on Friday.
We will have our social lesson with Mr. Schuck on Wednesday and have a buddy lesson this week on Thursday with Mrs. Cornell’s 2nd graders! 🙂
