Mrs. Koerner (French, German)

Angelika Koerner has attended Johannes Gutenberg Universität in Mainz, Millersville University, and Wilkes University and is currently working toward an ELP certification at Eastern Mennonite University.

She grew up in Germany and Austria, but has lived in the Lancaster area since 1994 with her husband and children. She’s taught languages since 1996, teaching middle and high school French, Latin and German. Mrs. Koerner started at Penn Manor in 2018.

“Learning other cultures and languages has been an ongoing interest since childhood. I grew up in two cultures, as the child of an immigrant and the grandchild of a refugee. Over the decades, I’ve enjoyed staying in touch with friends and acquaintances who live in or come from various cultures. Languages, cultures and societies fascinate me, because they are intricate systems that exist in an amazing variety.”

Mrs. K’s favorite quote:
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart. – Nelson Mandela
