Mrs. Mintzer (Spanish)

Mrs. Mintzer is from West Lawn, PA.  She attended Wilson High School and Millersville University where she earned a BSE in Spanish.  She has a Master’s Equivalency Certificate and has taught at Penn Manor since 1994.

Mrs. Mintzer chose to be a teacher because she has always loved school and always wanted to be a teacher.  “When I was in elementary school, I used to stop into my grandfather’s Chemistry class on my way home from school. He taught at Wilson HS, and classroom was right by the end of a hallway, and I walked by it everyday!”  After she had the opportunity to travel to Spain in high school, she decided that being a Spanish teacher was the right choice for her.  In 1992 she traveled again to Spain for a semester abroad in Valencia.

Mrs. Mintzer’s favorite things about teaching: “I like that teaching Spanish allows me to teach about lots of topics, as well as skills: reading short stories in Spanish, modern Art (Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso are my favorites), and even grammar!”

Mrs. Mintzer also enjoys theatre: she is the Assistant Director for Fall Play & Spring Musical at PMHS; she has season tickets for the Fulton Opera House; and she is a member of Theater Hub ( linking HS theatre programs from all around the Central PA area.  She is also a Conestoga Swim Team board member.
