We read all about the different ways animals prepare for winter – migration, hibernation, adaptation. We made several books about this subject. Lastly we made bird feeders out of pine cones, vegetable shortening, and bird seed! What fun!
We celebrated 100th Day on February 4th this year. We started by sharing any projects.
Then we made 100 Day crowns with 10 groups of 10 stamps.
In writing we wrote about what we look like now and what we think we will look like when we are 100!
All of our activities all day long were centered around the number 100!
Last week students learned a little about groundhogs. We watched a few videos of groundhogs in the wild. We read several stories about Groundhog Day and the tradition in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. Then we made a “can-have-are” poster about what we learned. Last we wrote all about groundhogs and made a prediction about what Punxsutawney Phil would say on Ground Hog’s Day.
Well, 1-Garpstas predicted the Ravens would win and they did! Last week we learned a little about each of the Super Bowl teams. We found their home towns on the USA map. We saw pictures of their stadiums and their mascots. The we wrote a prediction about which team we thought would win the game and mounted them on a football player we made out of construction paper. Take a look . . .
