NATIVE AMERICAN DAY – Supplies Needed

On Tuesday, Nov. 21st both second grades will be celebrating their Native American Unit by having a Native American Day from 1:30 to 3:00PM. We will be doing fun activities in the afternoon revolving around Native Americans.  We will also incorporate the pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving into our stations.  Your child may dress up like a Native American or pilgrim that day if they wish to do so.

Apple Week

We learned about how the apple tree changes over the course of the four seasons.  We learned about he life-cycle of the apple tree from seed, to sprout, to tree to fruit and back to seed again.  Students discovered all the uses of apples and tasted several types.  We made a graph of our class’s favorite apple.  Lastly we made Apple Crisp following the steps of a recipe and students completed the steps on their own!  Oh, yes, and then . . . YUM!
