math and landforms

Today in math we finished up our math test and played a card game called making ten. We took a deck of cards and removed all the face cards and jokers. Then we flipped up 4 cards . We tried to make ten by putting 2 numbers together. If we did we grabbed those cards and filled in the empty spaces. If we could not, we flipped over a card from our pile to try to make ten! This continued until all our cards were gone.

The class also continued to talk about landforms. We made up movements to remember volcano, ocean, plains, mountain, hills, river, lake, canyon, and valley. Ask your child to show you the movements for each of these landforms!
