Main Idea, Bar Graphs, Reflection, and Refraction

Today the class identified main ideas and details in a story. We read several stories and then identified them. We watched this utube to help us!

In math today the student learned how to organize data with a bar graph. We watched a story called Lemonade Stand that the characters used a bar graph to record how much lemonade they sold. Here is the story.

In science the students learned the words REFLECTION and REFRACTION. See if your child can tell you the difference. REFRACTION is when light changes direction as it passes through something. An example is a rainbow. REFLECTION is when light bounces back off the surface of something because light can not pass through it! An example is a mirror.
