A message from Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Jerry Egan

Penn Manor music teachers have made recommendations to administrators about how to best meet the musical needs of students while following health and safety precautions.

Registration for playing a band or string instrument is being delayed this year. Future band or string students will be invited to register when it is deemed safe. Physical proximity, aerosols in the breath, and sharing of materials are the reasons for this delay.

Instrument lessons for returning students in 5th and 6th grade will continue with a combination of in-person and virtual meetings.

Due to Covid-19 and the requirement for small groups of students, there will not be band or chorus ensemble rehearsals this fall. Since students can be masked, distanced, and fully play their string instruments, small string ensembles will be considered before 2021.
