Looking Back

We had a great week in our classroom this week! We’ve made the switch from Science to Social Studies recently, and students are now going to Mrs. Loreto’s room for a portion of the day to learn about the 13 colonies. We finished our first class read-aloud, “How to Steal a Dog.” It’s such a good read… ask them about it! We’ve begun a new read-aloud, “The Crossover” (Kwame Alexander). We finally had the opportunity to utilize the PTO-purchased Google VR headsets. We took a “field trip” to Puerto Rico, and learned about its history and ties to the U.S. The Blue Rock Fire Department paid us a visit today. Our students got a brief tour of a fire engine, watched a fire fighter dress for the job, and learned how to protect ourselves from fire at home.
