Update for Tomorrow

This is a message from our Superintendent, Dr. Michael Leichliter…

Snow is forecast for Thursday night into Friday morning, and there is a possibility of a two-hour delay on Friday, March 1. If the start of school day is delayed, we would cancel the early dismissal scheduled for Friday, March 1, and students would be dismissed at the regular time. In either case, only afternoon kindergarten will be in session.  At this time, the current schedule has not changed, but we want to alert parents and guardians of the possibility that this may change. We will keep you updated via the district website, Twitter feed, cell phone app and local media outlets.

As always, thank you for your understand, cooperation, and patience!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Week of February 25

Thank you to everyone for participating in Kids At Work Day on Friday! We had some great career choices in our classroom and it was a great way to get the children talking about their futures!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Today, you will see a letter go home from Miss Wycherley, my substitute! I know the kids will be in GREAT hands and we are working on making the transition super smooth! Please reach out with any questions!

In math, we have started graphing. We will analyze picture graphs, bar graphs, and line plots.

Spring pictures are tomorrow. Your child will only get them taken if you pay online or provide the envelope tomorrow.

Please make sure to study spelling words at home. We do practice in stations, but some children need the extra “at-home” practice too. The February reading calendar will be due on FRIDAY, MARCH 1ST. Please add up your child’s reading minutes.

Miss Alison Wycherley spent the day in our classroom today! She will be taking my place in March when I go out on maternity leave. Week of February 11th

It was fun to have so many “teachers” come to school on Friday 2/8 for the Freaky Friday spirit day! I am happy to report that my clip as a student made it off the chart!!

With so many missed school days, we will have our spelling test NEXT Friday, 1/22. I will not give out new words this Friday. Also, school is now in session on March 29th and April 18th. These were weather make-up days but now SCHOOL IS IN SESSION!

If you are choosing to purchase books from the book order, please do so by Friday. Thank you!

We ARE in session on Friday 2/15 to make up for the snow day we had a couple of weeks ago.

If your child is choosing to bring in valentines this week, we have 17 students in our class. We will be doing our Valentine’s celebration TOMORROW 2/14.

We will be testing our money chapter in math this week. We will review, and test on Friday if I feel we are ready. There are still a few kiddos struggling to identify and count the value of the coins. If you are able to help your child practice this at home, it would be a big benefit for them! Thank you!
