Penn Manor Online Learning NOW Available!

Hello Penn Manor families,

Penn Manor educators have developed continuity of education plans to help students continue learning from home while our schools are closed.

Here is a link to the resources.

These are optional, ungraded learning activities that students can complete from home. The resources have been developed to meet a variety of students’ needs and may not be the same across our school district.

Teachers will also be accessible to students and parents and will respond to any questions about the learning activities in a timely manner.

Currently, schools are scheduled to reopen on April 9th, but that date may change depending on Governor Wolf’s orders.

Thank you for your support of your child’s education in this challenging time.

CM Proud!

Please enjoy our Central Manor Proud video. “Central Manor Proud” is our school song that we sing once a month at Shine Time!

“Working together as one, we’re growing like a garden.
Leaders everyone, we’re joining mind and heart,
In unity, with this community,
We’re Central Manor Proud.
Shaping the future in store, we’re writing our own chapter.
Built on the stories before, with all who will come after,
In unity, with this community,
We’re Central Manor Proud.
We stand tall, if someone falls,
We’ll lend a helping hand.
Together strong, we all belong,
As leaders we will stand.
Chapters eventually end, Central Manor lives inside us.
Memories, teachers, and friends,
Continue to shape and guide us,
In unity, with this community,
We’re Central Manor,
Central Manor,
Central Manor,
P-R-O-U-D – PROUD!”

Special Spirit Day!

In this time of uncertainty, it’s clear that Penn Manor has an amazing community. Let’s show our PM pride by wearing blue and gold or other Penn Manor attire on Wednesday, March 25. Share your photos with the #PMProud tagline via Twitter, Facebook, or any social media account.

District Update

Penn Manor schools are closed through March 27 in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak. It is unclear whether that status will change or when we may be able to resume normal operations. As we all deal with this unprecedented challenge, we want to share some important information with parents. This website is the best way to stay up to date. https://www.pennmanor.net/covid19/

  • The education of children is on hold as we consider options moving forward under the direction of the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • We have decided not to pursue online learning for our students at this time. We would not be able to fulfill our legal and ethical obligation to serve every student appropriately via this means, and many of our students lack access to the internet at home.
  • March 13 is now officially the end of the third marking period. Students’ grades will reflect assignments and assessments completed through that date.
  • We are working to establish a system to provide breakfasts and lunches to families with children who qualify for free- or reduced-price meals, beginning Wednesday, March 18. More details will be released as they become available.
  • All buildings are undergoing a deep cleaning, including all carpeting, fabric surfaces and touch points.
  • Essential school district personnel, with minimal exceptions, will begin working from home Wednesday.

  • Buildings will be open to teachers and the public by appointment only beginning Wednesday, March 18. Visitors should call the school office to arrange a visit.

Hello 2D Families! I hope you are enjoyed this beautiful weekend! This update is a bit longer than usual, but please read through it all because there is a lot of important information in it! Thank you!!

*Our money unit is in full swing and we are trying to make “cents” of it!! Some of us are really struggling with counting money. It would be VERY HELPFUL if you could spend time each evening reviewing this life skill. Students need to be able to name the coin and it’s value from both the front and back. They also need to be given a handful of coins (total value under $1) and be able to sort them from highest value to lowest and add the values to find a total. Thank you so much for your support at home!!

*Reading calendars are due Friday! Please total your child’s minutes for Friday, thank you!!

*Spelling test Friday, the list will come home TODAY.

Week of February 3

February….what?? I can’t believe how fast time is flying by! We have learned so much and have made such wonderful progress! Your children make me smile every day!!

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I already provided a class list to students. Please know that sending in Valentines is optional, but if your child would like to participate, he/she should provide one for every child. We have 24 students in our class. I also ask that if there are edible treats attached, they must be pre-packaged and peanut, milk, and egg free treats. Thank you for your understanding and helping to keep everyone safe!

Since we are mid-year and the spelling words are getting harder, this is a good time to see if your child is spending enough study time during the week. When the tests come home, please also notice the dictation sentences on the back. These sentences are a combination of current and past words, as well as word wall words students are expected to know. Please contact me with any questions!

Special Reminders:

*Tuesday – Kindergarten Information Night (held at Hambright Elementary)
