As the first competition approaches, please review this post on stage fright – both rookies and vets. It’s another way to help you be GREAT!
Attached are notes for the week ahead. Be GREAT this week!
Summer is almost here, and that means marching band is starting up soon! The high school students, band staff, and I are very excited to welcome the new students into the band and we hope you will be one of them. The 2018 band show is titled, “SUPERNOVA” and will feature the band’s new uniforms in this space-themed show.
To help prepare for summer rehearsals, the band will hold two very informal evenings – “Tune-Up Nights” where new members can join up with the returning members and test the waters and get a glimpse of the marching band program. Many students decide not to join band based on what they’ve heard from others, but these two evenings will provide a way to see for yourself, before the official season begins.
COLORGUARD: Any students who wish to join our colorguard should also plan to attend the Tune-Up and special Colorguard nights! You will meet with our staff and start learning the basics of spinning flags!
PERCUSSIONISTS: We will hold a group jam session for all returning and new members. This will replace our traditional auditions, but provide a way for the staff to assess your playing skills and place you on the instrument that best fits your abilities in a relaxed setting.
Mark your calendars:
