New PMC3 Rep needed for Cross Country

Dear Cross Country Family,

Jamie and I have loved being your booster club reps for the last few years.  Neither of us will able to continue in this capacity moving forward.

The immediate need is for a PMC3 rep. I have also served in this role but will not have a runner next year. If this is of interest to you please let me know asap as the new grant money comes out very soon. I will not be continuing as the rep. So we must find a replacement or forfeit the opportunity to receive any grant money.  I am happy to walk you through the process.

Anyone who would like to step into this role or a booster club role please let me know soon. Once a new coach is hired the remaining funds will be turned over to him/her.

It was a pleasure working with you and this group will always hold a special place in my heart.

Coaching Decision

To all of our Cross Country families,

For the last twelve years, Doug and I have been involved in one capacity or another with the cross country programs, however, sometimes life leads you in new directions.

Although this was a very difficult decision, we have put in our resignation as the Cross Country coaches.

We have full confidence that the Athletic Department will find coaches to uphold the same integrity and commitment to the athletes and families that we worked so hard to instill in the program.

Thank you for the privilege of coaching many of your children through the years and best wishes in the seasons ahead…GO COMETS!!!

Volunteers needed for Turkey Trot

Hello Penn Manor Jr. High Cross Country families,

We are in need of additional volunteers (parents and/or athletes) to help us with the Millersville Turkey Trot, held on Thanksgiving morning from 7:10 until 10:30 (at the latest). This is a fundraiser for our Cross Country program and also a way to earn service hours for community or church groups you may be a part of.

Below are some other specifics about time, location, and assignments. If you are interested in helping, please email me at

We’ll meet at 7:10 in the Women’s Locker Room under Biemesderfer Stadium (Millersville University) to get you situated and give you a volunteer vest (please bring back down to the locker room when you are done for the day). Please dress for the weather as you will be working outside in the track area.

We recommend you park by the Sugar Bowl if you will be helping through the duration of the event since all of the roads will be reopened by the time you leave. If you are just dropping off, you may do so at the track and roads should be reopened by 10:30 for pickup.

Thank you for your consideration and HAPPY THANSGIVING!

End of season wrap up!

Hi everyone! Great job at the Iron Bridge Invitational today. We had some really awesome performances at a challenging meet. I am hoping that official results and times will be emailed shortly and when they are I will be sure to update the blog. Thanks to everyone for your patience- it was the race director’s first year coordinating such a huge undertaking!

MONDAY!! We will celebrate the end of the season with a pizza party at Manor Middle School during our normal XC practice time. Coaches will present the athletes with participation certificates, we will have pizza and some other treats, and be wrapped up around 4:30. Marticville and HS students should take the activity bus like they normally would for cross country.

This will be our season wrap up- after Monday there will not be any more XC practices for the year.

Please send along your child’s washed uniform (tank top and shorts only- they can keep the yellow warm up shirt) in a bag with their name on it during Monday’s meet up.

As always, if you have any questions, certainly feel free to reach out to me at or 717-380-5675 (text is best!)

Thanks again and GO COMETS!

Iron Bridge is tomorrow, 10/15

Just a few reminders for tomorrow’s meet at Iron Bridge:

  1. We will be leaving Manor MS at 6:30am- it is a good idea for kids to ride the bus as we are not sure where we will be setting up and there are quite a few schools that will be attending.
  3. You are welcome to take your child home after their race or if they take the bus home, please plan to pick them up around 1. I will send out a Remind notification when we are on the way back to Manor Middle School
  4. Kids should have full uniform, full sweats/warmups, yellow warm up/team shirt, sneakers to run and walk the course, and spikes if they are using them. They should also have water bottles, snacks, etc.
  5. There will be snacks available for purchase and meet shirts. Last year the shirts were around $20-25
