Hello Penn Manor Jr. High Cross Country families,
Today, we concluded our regular season against Manheim Township and Solanco. It was a surprisingly warm day with a bit of a swamp in the middle of the field, but we made it through! The Boys and Girls each came away with wins against Solanco, but Manheim Township proved a little tougher to beat today.
Our point scorers today for the Boys were: Graham Cohick, Miles Sandt, Gage Myers, Silas Buckwalter, and Jack Steele, followed closely behind by Vincent Keefer, Cole Johnson, Aiden Whitfield, Ben Thomas, and Chase Vinson with extra support from Ethan Braegelmann, Riley McKenzie, and Jordan Chen.
The Girls were led by Alyssa Eby, Zoe King, Reagan Gerlach, Addy Martin, and Madeleine Rohrer, followed closely behind by Kaylee Dyer, Bethany Kramer, and Charity Hetrick with extra support from Evelyn Hetrick, Viv Arnold, Olivia Swanson, Jaden Emmert, Willow Hurrell, and Libby McComsey.
This is always the time when we look back and reflect on our season. It will always be one to remember and we are very grateful and fortunate to have had the opportunity to train and race together all of these months. Sportsmanship, personal growth, discipline, enthusiasm, and self-motivation are all part our team goals and philosophy that we work towards all season long. Although we came together as 27 individuals, we are leaving as a complete team unit, guided by these principles.
We cannot thank each family enough for your support and willingness to make every effort to get your child to practice. Our team attendance was amazing! You showed extreme flexibility and understanding with all of the changes, especially with the weekly meet schedules. When we ask our athletes to be committed to the program, we know this request extends well beyond them, and it is the parents who also show the same level of commitment in order for us to be able to achieve the things we have throughout the season.
Coach Taylour and I would also like to say a HUGE thank you for our surprise gifts before the meet today. You are all very kind to think of us and we truly appreciate your overwhelming generosity and it was nice to be surrounded by the team when we received them!
