Just a reminder- there is NO PRACTICE on Friday and Monday as they are early dismissal and no school days. Next Saturday 10/15 is the Iron Bridge invitational- more details will come next week.

The meet at Hempfield that was scheduled for today has been postponed until tomorrow- and practice is cancelled for today. Announcements have been scheduled at Marticville, Manor, and the high school so the kids should be aware of this change and notified that they should head home on the bus or as walkers.

We will plan on the same schedule for tomorrow as a make up for today- the bus will leave from Manor MS at approximately 2:30pm- if you are a home/cyber schooler, please be at Manor by 2:20.

Hello!

Just a few reminders for our Hempfield meet tomorrow:

Our bus will be departing Manor MS very close to 2:30. Marticville will be dismissed at 1:45/50. Renn Faire attendees from Marticville will be directed by their teachers/principal as to the transportation they will be taking to get to Manor MS. This info is still TBD- so please remind your child to keep an eye/ear out for further directions at their school/trip.

Most likely, we will encounter rainy/wet conditions- please have your child pack rain clothes to walk the course, and they are welcome to wear a shirt/leggings under their uniform as long as they are one color (no large prints or logos). Extra shoes are great if that is an option, spikes will be beneficial, and after meet shoes (sandals, Crocs) for drying out are good to pack as well.

If you will be taking your child home, a signout sheet will be located at the bus (number TBD) so it does not get waterlogged in the rain.

A course map is also TBD! Please let me know if you need a good location to stand along the course.

In case anything changes, please keep an eye on the Remind app!

We will also not have practice Friday (early dismissal) nor Monday (day off from school). I will catch up with the kids later this week with some recommendations of workouts.

Great meet today!

Thanks to everyone that came out to support our teams. We had some breakout performances and great races. Especially against the Warwick crew – very exciting as I ran for Warwick in the (yikes!!) late 90’s. Congrats to our PM Middle School Girl’s team for a win! Our boys VERY narrowly (by one point) beat Lebanon as well. Fantastic job everyone!

Please see the scoring and times/places below. You should all be very proud of your (hopefully) very tired athletes this evening.

Hello! We will have a slightly shorter practice than usual today due to our home meet being tomorrow! If you would like to and are able to – kids can be picked up by 4:30.

Marticville will be dismissed at 2:00 and High School at 2:10. The shuttle will pick the HIGH SCHOOL kids up on Herr Ave . They have to go here because the regular buses will be lining up.

Varsity uses the ball dugouts and Jr. High kids will use the tables under the trees by the tennis courts- like at practice for a meeting space. 

We are going to start the course walk at 3:15.

These will be the needs for Jr. High Athlete helpers:

4:45-5:10 Fill water cups for Boys Varsity race (2 helpers)

5:15-5:45 Fill water cups for Girls Varsity race (2 helpers)

If your athlete is interested in giving a hand after their race, just let me know!

Small pocket-sized “programs” are available. Special thanks to Morgan Heitland (Greta’s sister) for making these a reality and to Brandi and Jamie for helping to fold! If you have not picked up yours yet, please ask a child to grab them at practice. Isaac and Raegan will have them available. 

Plan to attend Senior Night after the Varsity races at our only home meet of the year.  Sept 27th  Help celebrate the accomplishments of those who have been in the program for 6 years and those who joined us along the way. We have much to celebrate! 

Due to a prior commitment, there will not be practice today, 9/16. Kids were informed of this changes yesterday and a Remind notification went out yesterday- another will be sent this morning.

Booster Club Update

Thank you to all who participated in the cash call. We met our goal! We are humbled by your generosity. 

For those who ordered spirit wear, it came early today! Coach Brooke has all of the remaining orders if you missed the pick up.

Small pocket-sized “programs” are available. Special thanks to Morgan Heitland (Greta’s sister) for making these a reality and to Brandi and Jamie for helping to fold! If you have not picked up yours yet, please ask a child to grab them at practice. Isaac and Raegan will have them available.

Hello Comets!

Great job at the meet yesterday, despite some course and scoring challenges. Below are the results from the day in the links. We had some standout performances and are on a great path for the rest of the season.

Just a couple of reminders- athletes must be in full uniform to run in the meets- this is not optional. Full uniform means the school top and shorts. If we run into bad or colder weather, you’ll be informed if the kids can wear a layer under their uniform and what parameters that may include. On occasion, I will have an extra uniform to loan, but the expectation is that the athlete is ready for meet day.

Next Friday, September 23 is an early dismissal day, so there will be NO PRACTICE. I will give the kids instructions about what they can do on their own that day and weekend. We do not have a meet next week, but we do have a home meet on Tuesday, 9/27. If any parents would like to provide snacks or drinks please let Coach Brooke know prior to 9/27.
