Dear 6th Grade Families,
Every year, the Penn Manor Elementary School Counselors provide a program on sexual harassment prevention and cyber safety for the sixth grade students. We use two age-appropriate videos for teaching purposes, entitled “Flirting or Hurting: When Is It Okay, When Is It Harassment?” and “I Was Cyberbullied,” both produced by Human Relations Media. Our Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Egan, has approved these videos.
During the program, we will be discussing the definition of sexual harassment as well as exploring the Penn Manor School District Board Policy and reporting procedures. Students will learn the differences between sexual harassment and flirting. We will also be defining and discussing examples of cyberbullying and learning the steps to take when responding to a sexual harassment or cyber safety incident.
The schedule for the 6th grade classes at Conestoga and Martic is as follows:
Mr. Mattern at Conestoga: Monday, March 27th from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
