Reading Assessments

Tonight, the children will be bringing home their Lesson 1 reading assessment. We continue to work on our reading as we discuss test taking strategies. Parents please sign the tests and return them to school the next day. This allows me to review concepts that are difficult to children in a small group setting.

Wednesday nights the children will bring home their reading anthologies to reread the story read at school. Thanks for your continued support.

Splash Party Canceled

August 28, 2019

Due to the weather forecast of severe storms this evening, the splash party has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. Students who participated in the Summer Reading Incentive will be treated to extra recess tomorrow and a special treat.

Our apologies for this inconvenience!

2-W Information

The children will not have math homework tonight. I’m beginning to form small flexible groups in reading. Each evening the children should bring home their guided reading book to reread their story read with me at school. The more rereading the better to build fluency. If they finish before 15 minutes they may select another book to read.

I hope to see many of our families at our Meet the Teacher open house tomorrow from 4:00-6:00.

Summer Splash Celebration

Details for Summer Reading Splash Party on Wednesday after Meet the Teacher Night from 5:30-7:30:*Students will receive their free ticket on Monday if they returned their calendar.  Please check backpacks for them.  They should bring their ticket to the pool.
*Unfortunately if it rains, we will need to cancel and not be able to reschedule.  Let’s hope for sunny weather!
