Special People Touch Our Hearts

I’m excited to share with our families that Mr. Rohm and Mrs. Zeigler were recognized for their dedication to our school and children. I have an incredible admiration for each of them. They have worked with our classroom throughout the year and truly love the art of teaching. If your child would like to send an email of appreciation, please send it to me. I’ll be sure to forward it to Mr. Rohm or Mrs. Zeigler. We are blessed to have such caring individuals. Thank you to the Penn Manor Education Foundation for recognizing them.

You Are……..

Parents – You are ‘SUPER HEROES’
by cmcpherson

This school year is not following the path that we had planned, nor is it a path that we would have chosen.  Yet, despite all the changes and challenges, we continue to persevere and move forward, making the most of a difficult situation and finding strength that we never knew we possessed.

We also know that we are not in this alone.  We are working together as a team – parents, teachers, and administrators – to meet the academic needs of the children that are so important to all of us.   Without applying for the job, you, the parents, have been assigned the added role of ‘teacher’.  You were given no advanced training or preparation for what this new job demands.  Yet without a single complaint, you rose to the challenge and have been working alongside your child to help them complete the weekly assignments.  You are amazing in so many ways!  You have shown patience, encouragement, and support as you help your child complete the online assignments.  You have tackled and problem-solved an endless array of technology issues.  And despite the endless demands you must deal with daily, you continue to find ways to highlight the positives and focus on the blessings.

The time, energy, and sacrifices you are making to help your child continue on with their educational path does not go unnoticed.  We cannot thank you enough for all you are doing at home to guide your child(ren) through this unusual circumstance.  We appreciate all you do every day; we couldn’t do this without your support.  You have rightfully earned the title of SUPER HERO!  Thank you for being A+ amazing!

Please click here to view a small token of our sincere appreciation. And please remember that we are here for you!

Please Check Your Emails

I have set up a Google Meet with all students in smaller groups for tomorrow. Information has been sent to each family’s email. I understand that not everyone will be available. If you’re available, we’d love to see you. We’ll try to do something weekly to keep in touch. I’m so pleased with all the work that is coming in. Thank you for your continued support.

Hello Penn Manor community,

Penn Manor School District has introduced a comprehensive Continuity of Education plan, which is available for viewing here on the district’s remote learning website.

The plan explains in detail how teachers will provide learning activities for all students to access by grade level or subject area.  The current level of activities will continue through April 9, and the school district will begin transitioning to more robust learning activities the week of April 13.

Beginning April 20, all teachers will move from reinforcement and review of material previously taught to the introduction of new material.

Teachers will keep track of student participation and reach out to encourage all students to participate.  Learning activities will not be graded, but student participation is expected.

Given the current unprecedented circumstances, Penn Manor has tried to be intentional about transitioning to online learning and its impact on our students, families, and staff.  We want to be mindful of the stressors brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and the increased demands on parents working from home.

Throughout this process, we will continue to evaluate our Continuity of Education plan and make adjustments, as needed.

Thank you for your support in these challenging times, and please stay safe!

The public is permitted to use walking paths, the practice football field/track at Penn Manor High School, open fields at Comet Field, and other open space while practicing social distancing to do our part to try to reduce the spread of the virus.
