What about school?

A message about school…..

The Department of Education (PDE) announced today all schools in the commonwealth will remain closed through at least April 6 as a result of the COVID-19 response efforts. The closure order could be extended beyond April 6 if necessary to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19. Under the new timeline, school buildings would reopen on April 7 for two days to allow school administrators, teachers and other staff time to prepare classrooms, set up cafeterias, schedule transportation and arrange other business operations. Students would return to school on April 9, unless extending the closure is needed in response to the situation with the virus at that time.”

Until then……

Students and parents, this week the district is working together to provide some online schooling for students starting Monday. I will be working with other 3rd grade teachers over the next 3 days to deliver instruction and have some great activities. I am also working on a science page to go along with this learning.

A question for students and parents:

Today, part of my job is to collect student information about access. If you could please email me sometime today at kim.garvey@pennmanor.net the following:

Student name:

Do you have wifi in the home? Yes wifi or No wifi

Does your student have their password at home or memorized for google drive? Yes password or no password

Does your student have access to a tablet or computer to log onto google drive? : Yes device or no device

Please have your students collect this information as one of their jobs today! Also, if they want to send me a message, I will write back to them. I can’t wait to hear from you. I miss you very much!!! I have loved seeing all of the research that you have been doing! Great job!
