We had a great week in kindergarten! This week we continued sorting items by their attributes. We also started counting sets. We colored sets of objects using a code. This week we learned how to write the letters t, b, and f the “school way.” We learned the words I and can, and we read many books that used those words! We are doing a great job remembering what the authors and illustrators do. We learned more about apples and created apple diagrams. We had our first visit to the library for book exchange, and we ended our week taking part in the school “SizzlePalooza”!
Yesterday your child brought home their “reading bag”. This is a special bag that will contain books that we are working on in class. Your child may read these books to you, but it is VERY important that the books are returned to the reading bag, and the reading bag is placed in their backpack. The reading bag needs to be returned to school every day, just like the blue folder. Thank you for your help!
Monday, September 19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day! We will be celebrating in kindergarten with all kinds of swashbuckling activities. All students are encouraged to dress like a pirate on Monday! We are super excited for this special day. Please make sure your child can move safely in their outfit. No weapons, please. Please note – dressing like a pirate is a choice, not required. You can make a pirate outfit out of things you already have at home.
Monday – 9/19 – Dress like a pirate!
Tuesday – 9/20 – Book Exchange – Bring your library book!
Friday – 9/23 – NO AM KINDERGARTEN – PM kindergarten attends 9am-1:30pm and eats lunch at school.
