100th Day of School Celebration!

On Tuesday, February 7, kindergarten will celebrate the 100th day of school.  We will do a variety of activities on that day, which will include doing 100 exercises and counting to 100 in different ways.

I would like each child to make a t-shirt (at home) with 100 items on it. These items can be anything from pins attached to the t-shirt, puffy paint, drawings on the t-shirt, to items glued or sewn on the t-shirt.  Be creative!  This gives you a great opportunity to work one-on-one with your child to complete a fun activity.  It is much more beneficial if your child helps with making the shirt rather than you making the shirt for your child.  Try having your child count out 10 groups of 10 items to get to 100!

You do not have to purchase anything new to make the shirt, you can use an old shirt from home, and 100 items can be glued, sewn, or drawn on the shirt. Some ideas are:
band-aids                buttons                      stickers                      coins
cotton balls             feathers                    googly eyes            legos
photos                      letters                         ribbons                     thumbprints
small toys                craft items
or you can use a marker and draw stars, letters, shapes — anything you like! There are many ideas online. Be creative and have fun.

Your child should wear their completed t-shirt to school for our 100th day celebration!  Please encourage your child not to tell his or her friends about their t-shirt…let it be a surprise!

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

We are looking forward to an awesome day!

**If school is cancelled due to weather before February 7th, the date of the 100th day of school will be adjusted. Stay tuned for any needed updates.
