We had a fun week reading about chickens and learning about their life cycle. We made diagrams and charts, and are learning about how chicks develop in the egg. We are practicing segmenting, blending, and writing words. When your child is writing at home, encourage them to “tap out” and “stretch out” the words to write the sounds they hear. We are continuing to stress proper letter sizing and formation, as well as leaving finger spaces between words. At this point in the year we are expecting students to write their name with only a capital letter for the first letter in their name, and all the remaining letters should be in lowercase. We have started using our number bonds to write addition sentences in math. We are working hard and learning new things!
