Reminders for the Week of February 18th

Just a few reminders for this short week! Today, we welcomed Mr. Rasmus to 4th grade! He is our long term substitute that replaced Mrs. Suydam as the 4th grade teacher for the remainder of the year.

There will NOT be spelling homework this week. In replace of it, students will complete a Daily Edit assignment. Students should be completing Tuesday on Tuesday night, Wednesday on Wednesday night, etc. It should not all be left until Thursday night. 🙂

Math – we are working to master fractions and decimals. Mrs. Gwyn’s class will begin taking their Chapter 10 test tomorrow. Mr. Rasmus’s class will take their test the middle of next week.

Reading: We are finishing up our unit on understanding fiction texts this week. The skills we mastered are analyzing story elements, identifying the point of view, and making inferences about a fictional text. Our unit test will be the middle of next week.

We will celebrate Kids at Work Day this Friday, February 21st! Students will be invited to wear clothing that represents a career they may be interested in exploring as an adult. For example, students may come dressed as a construction worker, a doctor, a teacher, etc.
