Attention 4th grade students and parents:If you are interested in learning more about the Penn Manor Instrumental Music Program, then please read PM Elementary Instrumental Music blog and specifically Beginner Information. Here is the link to the online registration form. Registrations will be accepted through August 31. Lessons will begin as soon as schedules can be developed and shared with families and teachers at each school. Please contact your child’s classroom music teacher or Ms. Almoney with questions. (All 4th graders will receive the “Do you want to play an instrument?” paper which includes instructions for those who do not have internet access.)
It was an exciting first day in fourth grade! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about each other already! Check back at the end of the week for pictures!
Just a quick update!
*There are a lot of papers coming home in the first few days of school. Please reference the pink 1/2 sheet that was sent home as to which papers are to be returned to school and which papers are to be kept at home.
**Just FYI – Students will be receiving planners in the next few weeks. Until they arrive, we will be using a white paper that mimics their planner page. **No signature is required. We only require a signature over the weekend. More information will be given on this topic at Meet the Teacher.
***We look forward to seeing all of you next week at Meet the Teacher Night from 4-6. We will be doing information sessions at 4:30 and 5:30. Please feel free to attend either time because both 4th grade teachers will be at both sessions. We are excited to get to know you and your child more this year!

Their future is SO BRIGHT, they need to wear shades! 🙂 We want to thank all of our 4th grade families for a SUPER year! It went so fast, and we can’t believe it is over! There’s a lot we will remember forever! We wish all of you a safe and enjoyable summer. We will see everyone back in August!
Please note that the 4th grade personal safety lesson time has changed. That lesson will now take place in the library on Wednesday, May 29th from 1:00-1:40pm. Parents are welcome to attend this lesson if they are interested.
Blast costumes are due TUESDAY, May 28th! They were originally due tomorrow, but with the crazy schedules of May, we understand that many families need more time.
Students will begin reciting their speeches to their homeroom class on Tuesday, May 28th. 🙂 So any practice they can get over the weekend would be wonderful! Thank you for all of your support with this memorable project!
What an eventful day in Harrisburg! The 4th graders learned a ton at the state museum about the history of Pennsylvania and even more at the capitol. The highlight of our day, if you haven’t heard already, was meeting Governor Tom Wolf. We were extremely fortunate to have him take a picture with the 4th graders! Some even got autographs. We’ll be sure to copy those for all to have tomorrow! Thank you again to our wonderful chaperones. It wouldn’t have been as successful of a trip if it wasn’t for all of you!
***Chaperones – if you have any pictures from the day that you are willing to share so we can add them to the students’ 4th grade books, we more than appreciate it! Feel free to email us!

LeTort will be holding our Book Swap again this year. Get ready to clean off your book shelves and check under your bed to find those books that you’ve already read!
Your child may swap as many as 20 books. We welcome donations if you have more than 20 books. (We can especially use intermediate books.) We will make sure that they get in students’ hands. Please bring in books May 20 – 24. The swap will be held the following week.
On May 20 (rain date May 28) LeTort will be holding our second annual Vocabulary Day Parade. Be on the lookout for paperwork to come home tomorrow, Friday April 26th with more information.
Most 4th graders have already picked their vocabulary word, and hopefully they have already shared it with you! We will begin working on the plans for these costumes within the next week. So… mark your calendars, pack the lawn chair and join us in the parking lot on Monday, May 20 at 2:00!
