Parents, to honor Veteran’s Day, we are collecting items for a care package for our adopted solider, Lt. Emily Seidel. Emily is currently serving in Syria. We mailed her letters in early October, and wrote her stories about what the autumn is like here in Lancaster. Emily is actually from Lancaster! She says that she mostly misses her family, and also Stauffer’s grocery store, cold weather, and good books.
Some ideas for gift items include tea, chocolate or hard candy, warm socks, chewing gum, pens, coloring books or activity books, and books to read. Emily has a pet dog named Emma, whom she misses a lot. Emily’s favorite color is sky blue. If you have leftover Halloween candy, all of the troops overseas would love to share it!
Veteran’s Day is Monday. If you are able to contribute items to the care package for her, we will plan to fill the box on Monday with treats and pictures that the kids color, and I will pop it in the mail next week. Thank you for considering making a donation to the Veteran’s Day gift. If you have any questions, please let me know!
