It’s a Box Top celebration!

Tomorrow is Flip Flop Friday and Hawaiian Day.  Send the kids to school in their flip flops and bright colors!  We will have Leis for them to wear!  The PTO is treating everyone to a popsicle after lunch.  What a great way for the PTO to thank the students for turning in so many Box Tops!

We are excited to show you our play tomorrow!  Cast one will perform at 11:15 & cast two will perform at 2:30.  Thank you to everyone who helped the kids memorize their lines, sent in props, and donated drinks, paper products and cookies!  You’re awesome!

Join us at the Millersville Pool on Monday, June 1st for the Eshleman end of year splash party from 6-8.  I’ll be scooping some free Rita’s from 7-7:30 along with some other Eshleman staff!  If you didn’t sign up for the food count but you would like to attend, come on over for a swim!

Upcoming events

Friday, 5/29 – Our play!  Showtimes are 11:15 (cast 1) and 2:30 (cast 2).  Some kids are in both casts.  Parents, siblings, and Grandparents are all invited to attend the show!  I will be sending home a paper for anyone who would like to sign up to take home their student(s) home after our Friday afternoon performance.

We have all of our needed donations of lemonade and plates.  If you would like to donate any cookies or cups for after our show, please send me an email.  Thank you all so much!  Everyone is so generous!

Friday, 5/29 – It’s flip flop/hawaiian day at Eshleman! Everyone may bring a beach towel to sit on at lunch time.  This event is sponsored by the PTO as a thank you for turning in so many box tops!  The kids will be treated to a popsicle at the end of their lunch recess.  Thank you PTO!  Keep clipping and saving your Box Tops over the summer!

6/1   Eshleman picnic at the Millersville Pool from 6-8 PM.  Be sure to send in your RSVP if you haven’t already!

6/5 – Last day of school (sniff, sniff).  The kids will get to meet their 2nd grade teacher and report cards will be distributed.  School is in session from 9-11:30.  No breakfast or lunch will be served.

Our class loves to listen to read aloud stories and I’m sure you’ve heard that we are currently reading Mouse on the Motorcycle.  The kids tell me this is also a movie!  They’re already asking for a Mouse on the Motorcycle party when we are finished reading the book.  If anyone has a copy of the movie, I’d love to borrow it for next week.

Wednesday’s spelling test will be the last one of the year.  We will continue to have reading groups and our Storytown lessons throughout the week, we just won’t have another spelling test.  Thank you for all of the time you have spent helping your child learn these words!

The book fair will be at Eshleman until Friday.  We shopped today, but if  you would still like your son/daughter to purchase books feel free to send money to school on Thursday or Friday.  It’s buy one get one free!

We will be holding Awesome Activity Day at Eshleman on Tuesday, May 19th.  Please send your child to school with a water bottle, (labeled with a name), sneakers, and comfortable clothing!  If you would like to help run one of our stations from 1:30-3:15, look for the sign up genius on the Eshleman blog.  We would love to have your help!

We will have a 1:30 early dismissal on Friday, May 15th.  Please send a note to school with any transportation changes.  Thank you!

We are still in need of any tissue donations that you are able to send to school.  We appreciate your help with our runny noses!

Thanks for all of the soda bottle donations!  We have reached our goal.

Wednesday, May 13th is our day to shop at the book fair.  It’s buy 1, get one free!

A big thank you to the Eshleman PTO for making teacher appreciation week so special.  There were many delicious treats in the faculty room all week long and I received a sweet note from each of the children in our class!

There is a district early dismissal day on Friday, May 15th.  Please send in a note if there will be any transportation changes.

We will have awesome activities day on Tuesday, May 19.  Be sure to send your child to school wearing sneakers.

The kids worked hard to complete their animal reports.  We’re having a fun time sharing them.  They will be displayed in the primary hallway so be sure to take a look at them the next time you come in to school!

If you would like to celebrate your son/daughter’s summer birthday before the end of the school year, please let me know the date you would like us to celebrate!

Monday, May 25th – No school

Have you heard about our new friend, Mr. Andy?  He is a Junior Achievement teacher who has been visiting our room for the past few weeks to talk to the students about our community and wants and needs.  He will be visiting our room again on Friday.

It’s allergy season, and we’re flying through tissues.  If you could send a box to school we would really appreciate it!

Keep practicing those addition and subtraction Math facts at home!  Thanks so much for your help!
