Looking Ahead:

Fall fest volunteers should plan to arrive at Eshleman on Monday, October 31 @ 12:50 PM.  Meet us by the gym doors please.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

We love to read!

Today the Eshleman teachers accepted the school wide “reading challenge.”  41 % of our students (over 100!) returned their summer reading logs!  That means the teachers accepted the challenge to:  get their faces painted (and their bald heads), eat worms (maybe we showed the kids a live worm but ate a gummy worm), get hit in the face with a pie (I did this one and I must say that pie tasted pretty good), get slimed, and become a human ice cream sundae (Dr. Cox got in on the action for this one)!  It was a great way to celebrate the accomplishments of our Eshleman readers!  More challenges are to come this school year!  Keep reading at home first graders!

You can see a video of our assembly on the Eshleman blog!

New spelling words came home today.  Please practice these words/letters for a few minutes each night.

Next week:

Monday, 10/17- We have library and book exchange.  Send those library books back to school so we can get new ones!

Tuesday, 10/18- We have technology

Wednesday, 10/19- We have Music.  I will be out in the afternoon.

Thursday, 10/20-We have gym, wear sneakers

Friday, 10/21 – No school for students.  Teacher in service.

Our spelling test will be on Monday, 10/24.

Thanks for sending your conference form back so quickly, you’re the best!  Have a great weekend everyone!

Fall Festival

Eshleman first graders are having a fall festival on Monday, October 31st, from 1-2:30.  Parents with clearances on file with PMSD are welcome to join us to help run some stations.  If you would like to apply for your clearances, please contact Mrs. Aument in the Eshleman office.

We are also in need of a few donations.  Click on the sign up below to see how you can help!  Thanks so much!

I hope you enjoyed your three day weekend!  Please take a moment to complete the conference paper that was sent home on Friday, and return it to school.

Our specials this week:

Tuesday – Library

Wednesday – Technology

Thursday – Music

Friday  – Gym

We’ll be learning about fire safety this week, and we’ll have a visit from Avry’s dad!  He’ll tell us all we need to know about fire safety!

We will join with Mr. Heiney’s class on Monday, October 31 for a first grade Fall Festival.  We’re looking for parent volunteers who have their clearances, and are able to join us to help run some fun fall themed stations.  It takes about two weeks to submit your clearance paperwork and get approved.  Please contact Mrs. Aument in the office if you would like to be a volunteer and need  to get started with your paperwork!
